The following Information Management Task Force status was sent to Renata Lowe, Emily Rivera, and Steve Warner for sharing at the April 13, 2013 NSCS Board meeting:

  • Two books about implementing CiviCRM were posted on our project’s website. Team members have been asked to review this documentation by the end of April so that they can become familiar with CiviCRM capabilities and issues to consider during project planning and requirements definition. Updated project documentation and status reports have also been posted on the site. We are assembling an action item list to help us manage week to week activities.
  • As a member of the Workshop Committee, Emily Rivera entered contact data for >90 workshop attendees (who are not current NSCS members) into a spreadsheet and sent this to the IM Task Force on 03/14/2013. Karen Rigotti agreed that we should import these people into CiviCRM even if we have no more than an email address for them. I determined that there is some overlap with people already in dBase (including some former NSCS members).
  • We continued planning activities to create the mail service file required for the NSCS 2013-2014 Season brochure, which is usually needed by early July. The file will also be used to import data into CiviCRM. Karen Rigotti has been asked to take a lead role in data cleansing activities. John Zhang volunteered to do some algorithmic data cleansing on these names/addresses before any manual inspection is started; he plans to complete the first path by the end of April. I ran a query on the NSCS01 dbase (using the same criteria used to create the mailing list for this season's brochure), and on 3/15/2013 sent John a spreadsheet with 2,704 entries for evaluation. John will look at Emily's spreadsheet as well; workshop attendees will be included in the mail service file for the brochures.
  • Jim Miller is returning to Illinois in April and anticipates resuming an active role on the project.
