NSCS Happy Birthday Virtual Choir Project! (Deadline Oct. 30!)
This project was initiated to enable the NSCS Board to stay better connected with members during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Board plans to send this musical greeting to each member on their birthday.
Things you’ll need:
1 device to play the guide video of Sharon and Julia
- Headphones (earbuds or over ear) that you can connect to that device so that you can hear the video, but it won’t play out loud in your room.
- 1 device to record a video (with audio) of you singing Happy Birthday! This device (phone or iPad, for example) should record in a horizontal position. A laptop or computer, using Quicktime, also works well. For these, there is no worry about the position.
Step by step:
- Set up your recording device - make sure you are clearly in the frame (horizontal orientation, if required as stated above) - recording you from the waist up.
- Set up your other device so that you can watch and hear the guide video (through the headphones).
- Start recording
- Start the guide video for you to watch - you do not need to clap at the beginning
- Sing along - remember, instead of someone’s name we’ll sing “Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday to you” and finish with an exclamatory “Happy Birthday!”
- Stop your recording - double check that it worked!
- Save it - “Last Name_First Name_NSCS” ie: Davids_Julia_NSCS
- Email Amy Weller
- Amy will respond with a link for you to click on to upload your video
- Feel PROUD of your work and look forward to seeing the finished result!!!
